    On web based PMS team members can discuss various issues related to the projects and their progress by logging into the Microsoft Project Web Access using the sername and password given to them. Under 'Collaboration' menu you have two categories namely Notice Board and Alerts. First you need to select the project on which you want to discuss or send an alert to the members of the team. In Notice Board you can view all the messages regarding a project posted by variuos personnel of the organization by clicking the 'view messages' link. You can post the messages pertaining to a project by selecting the 'post messages' link. These messages can be viewed by any person who is authorized to access information of that paticular project.

    Under the Alerts you have two links, 'view alerts' and 'post alerts'. View Alerts is a place where you can view the alerts posted by team members of the project. Post Alerts is a place where the team members of the project can post the alerts. Any issues that has to be attended or resolved quickly are posted here. You can select the list of persons you want to send the alert from the address book shown on the post alerts page. This will send an e-mail to the persons selected from the address book. You can view the responses to an alert by selecting the particular alert from 'view alerts' page and even respond back to that alert by clicking 'Respond to Topic'. When an action is taken by clicking 'Final Action Taken' and responding, then the topic is closed. Till then a topic is kept open for any further discussions.
