General Rules 1. The All India Police Duty Meet comprises competitions in the following items:
i) Rifle and Revolver/Pistol Shooting The host State will provide the ranges, targets et. And arrange for the officials for these competitions. The competing team will bring their own arms and ammunition with them. Four trophies for Revolver/Pistol and Four for Rifle Shooting are awarded to the winners in these Competitions. There are two trophies, one each for the Team securing maximum points, both in Rifle and Revolver/Pistol shooting competitions respectively. There will also be a running trophy for the team securing highest total aggregate points in both rifle and revolved/pistol shooting competitions. There will be also a running trophy for award to the 2nd best team in Rifle, Revolver/pistol overall shooting competition. A trophy donated by The CM. Andhra Pradesh will also be awarded to the Best Team amongst State. In addition, a special medal is awarded to the best Revolver/Pistol shot. ii) Scientific Aids to Investigation This competition consists of a series of tests on various aspects of investigation of crime. While individual trophies are given for the winners of each test, the winning team for the entire competition is decided by adding the points obtained in all the tests. These tests are organized with the collaboration of the Director, BPR&D as also the Director, Central Finger Print Bureau, Calcutta & National Crime Record Bureau. iii) Police Photography This competition for Police Photographers is conducted in collaboration with the Intelligence Bureau of the State holding the Meet and a representative of the Driving License issuing authority of the host State. Practiced test is conducted by Army E.M.E. Officer and technical representative of the State Transport Department. iii) Police Dog iv) Computer Awareness This Competition is conducted by the National Crime Record Bureau, New Delhi. v) Live Saving There is no competition as such in Life saving, but the Prime Minister's Police Medals for Saving Life are awarded on the closing day at the time of the Prize distribution ceremony. These medals are awarded to the recipients by the Governor/Chief Guest before the other medals and trophies are given away. 2.

4. The DG/IGP of the host Organization shall conduct these competitions through a Working Committee appointed by him. 5. The working Committee will arrange accommodation and messing for the teams participating in the Meet. It shall be empowered to take disciplinary action against any competitor who is guilty of misconduct in the camp or during the competitions, on a report from the Camp Commandant or the Officer conducting the competitions. On receipt of a report from the Working Committee, the DGP/IGP will report to the Central Coordinating Committee, cases of serious misconduct of any team or competitor for any action that the Committee may consider necessary with regard to the future participation of that team or competitor in the All India Police Duty Meet. 6. Arrangements for boarding and lodging for competitors and team captains will be made in a camp and the team will abide by the rules of the Camp. All team captains should settle their teams' messing accounts before leaving the camp after the Meet. 7. Camp Commandant: He will be in-charge of the camp where all the teams participating in the Meet will be accommodated. HE will be assisted by an Assistant Camp Commandant of the rank of ASP/Dy.S.P., 2 Inspectors, 4 SIs and as many HCs as the working committee may consider necessary. His duties will be:
8. Administrative Officer: He will be responsible for all administrative duties; duties during the Meet such as:-
He will be assisted by an Asstt. Administrative Officer of the rank of Ast. Or Deputy Superintendent of Police, 2 SIs 4 HCs. And 8 Constables. 8. Team Manager: Each team must have a designated team manager who should be a gazetted officer. He may or may not be a competitor in any of the events. He would responsible for maintaining discipline within his team. It is his responsibility to see that all the members of his team or at their assigned place in time. He will lodge protests, if any, on behalf of his team. He will at all time cooperate with the officials of the Meet in the interest of safety, efficiently and good sportsmanship. He should be familiar with the programme and the rules of the Meet. He should check the official bulletins on the notice board to ensure compliance to all instructions. He should also take charge of the trophies won by his team. 9. Trophies: - In addition to the running trophies listed at Appendix 'B' the Central Coordinating committee will arrange for individuals medals to the winners of the First, Second and Third Position in each events and also the PM's Police Medal for Life saving. The Certificate will be arranged by the organizers to be awarded to the winners of First, Second and Third Positions. 10. Eligibility: Each Competitor should have completed at least one year's service in the regular Police force in the rank of Constable or above, on the last date of the application for entry to the All India Police Duty Meet, Prescribed by the Central Coordinating committee. Further conditions, if any, mentioned in rules for the individuals competitions should also be followed. 11. Protests, if any, should be made in writing by the Team Captain immediately after the incidents in question and not later than two hours after the incidents. Each protest should be accompanied by Rs. 100/-. The Chief Judge should forward the protest and the Fee with his report to the Jury of Appeal (Constituted by the host state) whose decision shall be final. The DGP: of host organization will be the Chairman of the Jury of Appeal. Whenever a member of the Central Coordinating Committee is present he will be a member of the Jury of Appeal. If a protest is upheld, the protest fee shall be returned. 12. Decision regarding winner in case of tie In the competitions of Scientific Aids to Investigation, Police Photography, Motor Transport , Dog and Computer Awareness, the competitor scoring higher marks in the practical test will be declared 'winner' in case of tie. The chances of a tie in the Wireless & Cryptography competitions are extremely remote as the marks obtained by the competitors depend on the time taken by them in completing various events. As regards the First Aid & Ambulance competition, the team scoring higher marks in the viva voce examination is given the higher position in case of tie. The tie in case of the shooting Competition is resolved on the basis of higher number of hits in the innermost ring on the target. 13. Every efforts has been made to render the rules and conditions of the competitions free from ambiguity. Should any doubt arise as to their interpretation or as to any point not apparently covered by them, application should be made for a ruling to the Secretary of the Central Co ordinating Committee, who will, if necessary, lay the matter before the committee the ruling given will be final. Any deviation from the rules would render a team or individual liable to disqualification. 14. Disqualification: Any competitor who indulges in untruths or misrepresentation or behavior unworthy of a Police Officer during the conduct of any competition or lodging or hearing of protests and appeals arising there from, may be disqualified from participation or awards in that or any other subsequent Meet by the Central Coordinating committee. Report about an incident of this nature would be sent by the official referee or the Chief Judge concerned, along with his recommendation, to the Secretary, Central Coordinating Committee, before the end of the Meet and ahead of the announcement of award. 15. Results should be announced immediately after each competition is over or as soon as practicable. 16. Report on the Meet: As soon, (after the conclusion of the Meet) as possible the Organizing Secretary will send, to the Secretary, Central Coordinating Committee, a detailed note about the Meet containing Inter-ail information on the following points:
